Description: This course covers in more depth basic algebraic concepts introduced in Elementary Algebra. Topics of study include: linear equations and inequalities; quadratic equations; polynomial and rational expressions; radicals and complex numbers; exponential expressions (negative and rational exponents) and logarithmic expressions; linear systems of equations; introduction to conic sections; introduction to functions. Graphing of functions will be done by hand. Real world applications of algebra will be addressed throughout the course.

This assignment has taught me that the order of multiple discounts that are applied to an item can affect the final price when the item is being purchased.

2) How the math from the project can be applied to other real life situations-give examples.

Real life situations that this assignment relates to is any store that offers discounts on their items. It is important to be aware how different discounts can make a difference in the final price of an item.

3) Which mathematical concepts were included in the activity, and how this acidity increased your understanding of the mathematical concepts.

There was many mathematical concepts used in this assignment, such as; adding, subtracting, multiplying, converting decimals, and function applications. I never gave much thought about discounts and how the order of multiple discounts could affect the price of an item. This assignment has taught me that the order of discounts does make a difference and now I have the knowledge to save money when possible.
